Welcome

Welcome to the small group community of Heritage Christian Church! We are glad you stopped by to see our site and learn more about small groups.

At Heritage we strive to Win, Build and Send Servants for Jesus Christ! In Matthew 20:26-27 Jesus said “Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave”

So the question is, “What does a Servant do?” At Heritage we believe a Servant of Christ does three things, which we call the three C’s.

First a servant Celebrates the work of Christ. By celebrating corporately we believe you will be lifted up and encouraged by our weekend services.

Second a servant Connects in relationship with Christ and others. Connecting happens best in a small group setting. We believe that small groups are the best way to learn, live and grow. Jesus had a small group of twelve and we believe that Servants are formed from relationship and connection within a small group.

Finally a servant Contributes to the cause of Christ. Contributing can be done individually or in a group. Many of our groups are working weekly in various areas of our community from caring for the elderly and widows to working, as groups, within our own church to taking weekly mission trips to the streets of Atlanta, GA.

Whatever your background, whatever your current stage in life, we have a group for you. With over 30 groups meeting practically every day of the week, we will help you connect.

Please drop me an e-mail mikeconaway@heritagechristian.org or 770.716.5768 ext. 201. I’d love to connect with you and discuss the options for your getting involved.

We believe....

We believe small groups are the most effective way to connect with other believers. We believe that to get big you have to first get small, that’s why we encourage all our people to connect in a small Group. We offer many stages of small group and invite you to browse our web site to find the right group for you.

Ministry Leaders

The Small Group Ministry at Heritage falls under the direction of our Small Groups Minister, Mike Conaway.

Mike oversees the daily activities and administration of our Small Groups. He previously served as the Life Groups Servant Leader (volunteer) since January 2003, and in January 2007 joined our staff as the Small Groups Minister. Mike is originally from Indiana and has lived in the Peachtree City/Fayetteville area since 1988. He and his wife Shirley have been members of Heritage since 2001.

Mike has a great team surrounding him. His assistant Holly Culver keeps things organized and keeps Mike on schedule.

Bill Degner serves as our Small Group Ministry Servant Leader. With over 20 years of experience in small group living, Bill’s input is vital in assisting Mike with the promoting, managing and shepherding the ministry.

Steve Clarke also is part of the ministry team, serving as ministry advocate. Steve’s role has him working closely with Bill and together they manage many of the day-to-day happenings. Steve is the leader of our Support Program, our main tool for shepherding our leaders and supporting them in all areas.

If you would like to speak with Mike about joining a group or need more information about our program please contact him via e-mail at mikeconaway@heritagechristian.com or call the small group ministry direct at 770.716.5768 ext. 201.
